Fifth Son of House Shinta, Ishgard's Second Azure Dragoon, husband to the Warrior of Light - these are just a few of the titles Hikaru has worn throughout his life. A patrol gone wrong left him dying on the snowy wastes of Coerthas, where a wandering revenant stirred the whispers of the Echo sleeping within his soul. The fledgling Dark Knight later struck fear in the hearts of the clergy by surviving a close encounter with Shiva.In the two years that followed, Hikaru became Ishgard's personal weapon against the primals troubling its borders amidst scorn from the Clergy. His life changed completely when Garuda sent him tumbling down Xelphatol - and into a Gridanian river, where the veena botanist Symkar Tsukasa saved his life.Many years have passed since that moment. Hikaru has been the quiet shadow behind Joshua Ward and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, assisting the Warrior of Light in saving all of Eorzea. He, Joshua, and Symkar are now happily married, and content to raise their daughter Lamia until the Alliance requires them again. There may or may not be a wedding between Hikaru, his lord Aymeric de Borel, and his fellow Dragoon Estinien Varlineau in the future.

Quirks: Don't let this pretty face fool you - he's got quite the temper beneath layer upon layer of studied behavior and Ishgardian politeness. Also, if he suddenly picks up the nearest beverage or food, it's because he's noticed (potential gossip/blackmail material) something interesting to observe.
ARMISTICE ELEGIES is a non-canon compliant retelling of the entirety of Final Fantasy 14. It covers the love story of Hikaru and his two husbands, Symkar Tsukasa and Joshua Ward. In this ficverse, the trio are fragments of the three men who served as Azem before the Sundering.Spoilers abound for all six patches of Final Fantasy, even as its timeline will wildly diverge from the MSQ. ◆ Ishgard: Hikaru's had a rough time of it in Ishgard (ex-refugees turned retainers, uplifted from nothing), but he's unquestionably devoted to the people in his nation and does want Ishgard to do better.
◆ Espionage: The Shinta trade is spy work and information. This never stopped being something Hikaru involved himself with, even as his other duties and his aiding of the Scions took precedence.
◆ Getting Into Fights: This boy's the epitome of Powered by Spite. It doesn't take much to set Hikaru off, but it does take a while for him to act on it. Should there be a bonafide asshole in the room, however, and somebody in need of an assist...
◆ Strays: Any kind of lost animal will always garner Hikaru's attention before actual people do.
◆ His Husbands & Other Lovers: His heart beats for them. You'll likely not hear Hikaru talk much unless you ask about Symkar, Joshua, Aymeric, Estinien, Thancred, Fray, or any of his other lovers.
◆ Chronic Pain: This is something Hikaru's suffered since he was a child, connected to his Amaroutine self and how he died before the End of Days.
